Welcome to the Ottawa Valley Triumph Club
The Ottawa Valley Triumph Club (OVTC) is dedicated to the preservation and pure enjoyment of owning and driving a Triumph. Please check out our calendar of events, pick an activity, and come join us — we're looking forward to meeting you. Our strength is in our membership. We invite you to join our club to share experiences and enjoy our activities. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact our Treasurer and Membership representative.
It's Time for the OVTC Winter Bash - 27 January
Our annual Winter Bash will be hosted this year by David and Belinda Batten, 4136 Wolfe Point Way in Gloucester (fairly close to the Ottawa Airport). The party starts at 3:00 pm. This "pot luck" is always a popular event. Everyone is invited to bring food and drinks to the Batten's. To help organize the event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your attendance, indicate how many people are coming, and tell us what food you will be bringing. Appetizers, main courses, and deserts are all welcome! There is no regular club meeting on 23 January. It is replaced by the Winter Bash.
Triumph Sports Owners Association (TSOA) Newsletter Archive
The Triumph Sports Owners Association (TSOA) was the factory-sponsored club for 26 years from 1956-1981. The TSOA was originally started as a sales tool, with the TSOA Newsletter sent free to every new Triumph owner. From October of 1958 through December of 1981, the TSOA newsletter was published in the same format, changing at various times from a monthly to bi-monthly and quarterly publication. The newsletter had a peak circulation of nearly 40,000, paid for by Triumph. It ended however, with the demise of Triumph in 1981. Check out our own newsletter archive for a link to the TSOA archive.
Drive Your Triumph Day - 10 February
Sir John Black’s is the man who bought Standard/Triumph after WWII and built many of the Triumphs we enjoy today. His Birthday is 10 February, and Rye Livingston of the Triumph Travelers Sports Car Club has organized a "drive your Triumph day" to celebrate. Obviously for us, February is not conducive to TR driving, but we can participate by taking an in-storage or in-restoration picture. If you would like to submit a photo taken on 10 February, please send it to email@example.com.
OVTC Dart Tournament - 24 February
The Annual OVTC Dart Tournament will to be held at the Barrhaven Legion, 3500 Fallowfield Rd, Nepean, ON, K2J 4A7 from 1:00-4:00 pm. Come and enjoy some friendly competition with other British Car Clubs along with pizza provided by the OVTC. No experience necessary!
OVTC Tool Library
We have discussed this issue in the past, but for various reasons the idea has faltered. Gary Kristjansson has volunteered to take the lead with this project. At this time, Gary would like to hear from all club members about their tool needs and tool inventories they might be willing to share with other OVTC members. So, is there a specific tool that you might need on an occasional basis that is a bit too expensive to purchase, or do you have some tools you would be willing to lend to other club members? Also, if you have ideas about how this service to members could be set up and managed, Gary would love to hear from you. Please contact Gary at firstname.lastname@example.org.
BCCI Long Distance Awards
The British Car Council (BCCI) Long Distance Awards program typically runs from 1 April through 31 October each year. OVTC members are eligible for these awards. You can report your opening and closing mileage for 2017 in two ways.
