OVTC About Us

The Ottawa Valley Triumph Club, founded in 1972, is a group of about one hundred enthusiasts in the Ottawa Valley (Canada) interested in preserving and enjoying all models of Triumph automobiles. Owning a Triumph is not a requirement for membership. The club tries to offer something for everyone. Best of all, however, is the spirit of friendship and camaraderie shared between enthusiasts of the Triumph marquee. Our events are never closed to non-members. Our calendar of events is in each issue of the Overdrive and can also be found in this web site. Pick out an event and come join us - we're looking forward to meeting you.

ITS ELECTIONS TIME
[Nov 13 2006] - Please note : We will NOT be at the Manordale community centre this month. Since the November 28 meeting is a special meeting for the OVTC executive elections, we will be at the Lorenzo's Pizzeria in the Nepean – Craig Henry area.

This is the same pizzeria that we went to last year – it is not too far from our regular meeting location.
It’s a bit small, but the food is good and the drinks are cold. The address is 3 Chartwell Avenue. It is in a
small strip mall at the corner of Craig Henry and Chartwell. Our reservation is for 7:30 pm.
Even though we are in the pizzeria, we will have a guest speaker this month, with his topic being:
“Confessions of a former Lucas employee.” It is expected to be a lighthearted look at some of the goings
on at the old factory.

On the topic of elections for the OVTC executive – I just want to remind you that if you are interested in
getting more involved in the club, this is a great way to do it. We’ve had a couple of people indicate they
are interested in taking on a more formal role on the executive which is great. Our club is only as good
and as relevant as we make it. Please consider putting your name forward for one of the positions.

FALL RUN UPDATE!
[Oct 19 2006] - It is a Saturday this year !
October 21, we will drive via back roads to Mont-Tremblant village for lunch. It is about 2 hours each way. Meet at Trim Rd parking in Orleans by 174 at 9:45 for a departure at 10:00. take ferry in Cumberland and drive to Tremblant via Thurso , Ripon, Lac des plages and St-Jovite. Lunch in local pub. Return via alternative road to Montebello then ferry. NO RAIN DATE, if it shines, we go ! RSVP to Louis Boucher

Hi folks, Sorry for the lateness in letting everyone know where we will be tonight, but I had a lot of difficulty finding a suitable venue for our meeting after we were bumped from the regular spot.We will be meeting tonight at 7:30 pm at the Trend-Arlington Community Centre at 50 Bellman. As you will see on the map, it is very close to our regular location. Hope to see you there.

EVENT ALERT! CLUB RUN July 22nd 2006.
[July 21 2006] - We are putting together a medium distance club drive for Saturday July 22, with the rain date being Sunday the 23rd. Dave and Elizabeth McNaughton have mapped out an interesting route with some stops and a place where we can have a picnic lunch. There will be an email with details on it coming out soon, but I just wanted to get this into your planning calendars. Directions/Details. NEW Directions.

[July 11 2006] - The event organizers are doing their rain dance and its working! 29 degrees so bring your water. 10am Saturday 15th July, $20 for car entry, Lakeside Gardens by Britannia Beach bring your hat, water, sun screen and a chair. EVENT ALERT! Club Drive For June 27th Meeting.
[June 25 2006] - Note that we have planned a special event in lieu of the regular club meeting on June 27. To get out and enjoy the countryside a bit, we will be having dinner and the club meeting at the Swan on the Rideau in Manotick. The plan is to meet at our regular location (Manordale Community Centre) at 6:45-7:00 pm (note this is earlier than a regular club meeting). We will leave as a group at 7:00 pm and go on a short country drive to the Swan. The planned route isn’t directly there, so it will be about a 30 minute drive. If you would prefer to go directly to the Swan, plan to be there around 7:30 pm. We have reserved the upstairs area from 7:30 pm onwards. We haven’t confirmed our guest speaker yet, but are working on it
