The Summer of Cancelled Events

A summer like no other ... Covid-19 meant that virtually all Triumph-related events had to be cancelled. Hopefully, next year we can get back to our normal calendar of events.

OVTC Activities​

All OVTC activities are cancelled until at least 1 January 2021 due to
​public health concerns related to COVID-19.
Many other scheduled events have been cancelled this summer.

MAY

  • 23-24 May: Lindsay Antique Automotive Flea Market - CANCELLED. Lindsay Exhibition Grounds, one light west of Hwy's 7 and 35 at 354 Angeline St. S. Check out website for details.
  • 23-31 May: British Car Week - A week for all owners of classic British cars to drive in their communities. The BCW website has more information.
  • 26 May: Regular OVTC Meeting - Meeting CANCELLED.
  • 31 May: Hudson British Car Show - CANCELLED All British Car Show, St. Thomas Park, Hudson, QC. 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, see www.hudsonantiquecarclub.com for more information.

JUNE

  • 6 June: Rendez-vous British in Quebec City - CANCELLED. A gathering of British car owners at Domaine Maizerets. Check the website for details at www.rvbq.org.
  • 13 June: HBCC All Virtual British Classic and Antique Car Show - In lieu of an actual car show, a virtual one will be held this year. See attached flyer for more information. Submissions between 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
  • 23 June: Regular OVTC Meeting - CANCELLED. Meetings are held at the Manordale Community Centre (68 Knoxdale Road, Ottawa, ON K2G 1A4), which is located at the corner of Knoxdale and Carola in the west end of Ottawa. Meeting starts at 7:00 pm.

JULY

  • 11 July: All-British Car Day - CANCELLED. Clarke Fields Park, 93 Houlahan Street, Ottawa, ON, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, more details at www.britishcardayottawa.ca.
  • 19 July: Brits-in-the-Park - CANCELLED. Spitfire is the Car of the Year at this all British car show. Hosted by the Victoria British Car Club, the show is held in Victoria Park, Lindsay, Ontario, and the gates open at 9 am. See attached letter for additional information and contact details. Event has been rescheduled to 18 July 2021. For further information, please contact Ian Macnab at 705-457-8505.
  • 26 July: Merrickville Classic Car Show - CANCELLED. The car show will include hourly door prizes, 50/50 draw, great music, and good food. Fairgrounds, 106 Read Street, Merrickville. For more information, call 613-850-5446.
  • 28 July: Regular OVTC Meeting - CANCELLED Meetings are held at the Manordale Community Centre (68 Knoxdale Road, Ottawa, ON K2G 1A4), which is located at the corner of Knoxdale and Carola in the west end of Ottawa. Meeting starts at 7:00 pm.
  • 31 July: British Car Show - CANCELLED. Glengarry Highland Games, Maxville, ON. 10 am- 3 pm. British Car Club members who participate in this British Car Show by displaying their British Car will receive free admission for two persons to The Games for the day! For more details visit www.glengarryhighlandgames.com.

AUGUST

  • 1 August: Lanark Highlands Rally - CANCELLED. Ottawa Jaguar Club is planning a rally will will offer an interesting drive and an opportunity to gather and meet other club members at the end. The drive will take place in Lanark County starting from Carlton Place and ending in the Perth area. The actual route will not be announced until the day of the event. It will have two components: a time and distance option that will be simple to achieve based upon a number of check points and/or a question and answer portion where questions such as who lives in the farm at km XXX. If you plan to attend as either a car driver or event supporter, please confirm to Chuck at [email protected] by 2 March so he can forward numbers to Mike O'Brien (Jaguar Club organizer). This event will be rescheduled for next summer ... tentatively 14 August.
  • 9 August: Boot'n'Bonnet British Car Day - CANCELLED. Ken Garrett Memorial Park, Inverary (about ten minutes north of the 401 on Cty Rd 10). Note change of location. If coming from Ottawa, take Hwy 15 south from Smiths Falls to Opinicon Rd. Turn right onto Opinicon Rd (curving road made to enjoy in a TR) and follow it all the way over to Cty Rd 10, turn left and head south to Inverary. Gates open at 8:00 am, and cost is $25 (which includes lunch). See flyer for details.
  • 14-16 August: CANCELLED The Toronto Triumph Club's 34th Canadian Classic, Midland, ON. See website for details.
  • 16 August: Brits on the Lake - CANCELLED. 177 Queen Street, Port Perry, ON L9L 1B8. Show runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. For registration details see website.
  • 25 August: Regular OVTC Meeting - CANCELLED Meetings are held at the Manordale Community Centre (68 Knoxdale Road, Ottawa, ON K2G 1A4), which is located at the corner of Knoxdale and Carola in the west end of Ottawa. Meeting starts at 7:00 pm.
  • 29 August: OVTC Golf Tournament - CANCELLED Our annual 9-hole golf tournament will be held at Manderley on the Green golf course. Tee times will start at 1:30 pm. This is a scramble format tournament and golfers of all skill levels are invited. If you have questions or want to register, please contact David B. at [email protected].

SEPTEMBER

  • 27 September: Merrickville European Classic Car Show - CANCELLED.

OCTOBER

  • 4 October: The Classic and Iconic Vehicle Toy Drive - Country Heritage Park, Milton, ON. See flyer for detail.
  • 18 October: All British Auto Swap Meet - CANCELLED. Rockton Fairgrounds, 812 Old Highway 8, Rockton, ON. 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (7:30 a.m. for vendors). $6.00 includes free parking (dedicated area for LBCs). Contact Don for more information 905-541-1975; [email protected].
